Apple today released the seventh beta of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 to developers to continue testing the Apple Intelligence feature. The seventh beta comes a week after Apple seeded the sixth beta of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1.

Apple Intelligence Feature 2
These updates can be downloaded from the Settings app on a compatible device by going to General > Software Update. Note that Apple Intelligence still requires an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 to work.

Apple Intelligence includes Writing Tools that can be found anywhere text can be selected and edited, and can be used to check spelling, correct grammar, rewrite with a new tone, and summarize text.

Siri has a new design with a brighter light around the display, and there’s a Type to Siri feature so you don’t have to talk to Siri. Siri can track if you’re stumbling with your words, and can save a story between requests. Safari can summarize text, and there’s a new Confusion Reduction Mode.

Smart responses are available in Messages and Mail, and the Mail app puts timely messages at the top of your inbox. Photos has a Memory Movie feature for creating slideshows based on voice descriptions, and you can record, record, and summarize calls. Printing and shortening are also available for each drawing.

More information on all the features currently available in betas can be found in our Apple Intelligence guide. Image Playground, Genmoji, and other new features of Siri are not yet implemented.

The update also includes recording and calling on all devices, and adds the ability to take photos on the ground on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
